After a particularly busy (and successful) 2017 so far, we thought it was about time we put some travel plans for 2017 in place.
Some of these have been in the planning for a while, others a bit more spur of the moment.
Let’s just jump right in, and do it in chronological order!
August 2017
We are off on another campervan trip! This time all the way down to the south-westerly most part of the UK. Right down there. In the bottom left-hand corner of mainland England. While we are down we are going to check out some truly touristy places.
St Ives, a beautiful, picturesque village on the coast of Cornwall. Maybe a visit to Seal Island. Definitely a trip down to Lands End, and perhaps a jaunt over to Lizard Point. THE most southerly part of mainland England.
We are away for at least 5 nights, 3 of them in and around St Ives, another 2 enjoying a couple of stops, en-route.
On our previous campervan trip a few months ago, back in April and loved it. That was in a hired 50k VW California. This time, a 7 year old conversion that is about to be retired. Hired from the good folk at SW Camper Hire. Will we cope with slumming it!
September 2017
Our main holiday and the epicentre of our Travel Plans for 2017 is Canada: The Rockies and Vancouver.
A proper Road Trip.
Flying into Calgary, and taking the Icefields Parkway from Banff to Jasper, before heading over to Vancouver for a few nights. It’s going to be AWESOME.
Just me, Suzanne, Max our 3 year old and the open road.
We love these type of holidays. Over 1,000 miles just the three of us.
It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey
Waking up in the morning in a room you checked into last night and will be checking out of in an hour. Piling everyone and everything back into the car and heading off to tonight’s stop, while marvelling at the views on the way. Yes, I know this picture is of Niagara Falls, and not of the Rockies or the West Coast of Canada, but any chance to show off my photography!!
Our main holidays are usually to the USA, as you can see in previous trips in 2013, 2015 and 2016, but this year, we are trying their neighbours to the north, Canada.
October 2017
A family trip to a villa in Portugal for a week. There will be 7 of us on this one. Just a week. Eating, drinking, lounging by the pool, and of course a bit of sightseeing. We may need the rest after the last two months of seeing and doing it all!!
Not the holiday we usually do, but after a month or so of touring holidays, perhaps we will need the break!!
And Your Travel Plans for 2017?
So a real mixture coming up, Driving South of England, and sleeping in a campervan. Driving the West Coast of Canada and staying in hotels. And a week in a Villa in the sunshine.
