NaBloPoMo – Nov 4th – Morro Bay in black and white

From our recent holiday, we were enjoying the sunny weather of Las Vegas, Death Valley, Yosemite on our way to San Francisco, and to enjoy the certain sunshine that the far west coast of California brings us. No reason at all to take any photographs in Black and White.

We were heading down the Pacific Coast Highway from SF to eventually LA. Our next stop on the Road Trip was Morro Bay.

The first couple of days were great, gorgeous driving, fabulous scenery, wonderful views, great company. On this particular day, we woke up in Morro Bay…wow what a contrast.

Blue Skies? Gone. Wonderful views? Gone. Driving was still ok, and the company was still great, but the fog and cloud didn’t make for great photos, so I switched the camera settings to Black and White.

Being near the coast, there was plenty of opportunity for some nice photographs in Black and White. Ladders, nets, chimneys, and rocks all with lovely textures. I also looked for distinctive shapes and patterns just to give a bit more depth and interest to the Black and White photographs.

Here are a few of my favourite, shooting Morro Bay in black and white, I hope you like them.
